Basically, what it boils down to is....
Today we don't teach kids what they need to learn to take care of themselves "and" take care of children. Since they technically hit puberty at 12-13, and sometimes even as early as 10 due to all of the hormones we're putting in food and kids are hitting puberty earlier, kids need to be taught at an EARLY age, in my opinion, how to cook, clean, take care of kids, etc. And not just girls, but boys as well. IMO this should be done via chores from an early age so they can be a productive part of the family. In addition, if an "oopsie" happens during puberty, and they want to keep the child, by being able to mentally HANDLE raising children, they are much more liable to be successful at it.
Nowadays we give kids everything, don't teach them how to literally "survive" and do all the things that parents have been teaching kids at an early age since human history BEGAN, and due to that even though they're biologically ready to have kids early, their mental capacity and their skills just are NOT there like they were hundreds of years ago and on back. Prior to the late 1800s, kids were allowed to play and such, but for the most part they also did a LOT of the chores that adults did, just in smaller quantities. By doing this, they learned the ability to take care of themselves AND others at an early age, both males "and" females, and this is why back then a 13 year old girl or boy could raise or help raise a child much more than even a 25 year old of today could. Because they were mentally trained to be adept at what they needed to do to survive.
So, do I think parents need to wise up and start incorporating some more survival skills into the children of today? Yes. I do. So that when life happens to THEM, they won't be unprepared for it, no matter what age they're at.
