Random thought.....I wonder how less shallow a big majority of the people on this planet would all be if there was no such thing as glasses or contacts.
Also...perhaps, in a round-about way....maybe bad vision was supposed to be nature's way of ensuring that visually unfortunate looking people ended up getting love/loving too. I mean, if you couldn't see someone very well, looks wouldn't exactly matter, right?
Maybe it's mutually beneficial, too. I mean, perhaps something went awry during the creation process and that's why someone doesn't have good vision, and by being able to mate with "anyone" who comes across their path, that's at least one way of ensuring that the genetics have a chance to improve within the offspring. I don't know. Just another weird thought.
I'm always doing that. Picking things apart to try to come up with a theory, no matter how far-fetched.
