I just saw The Avengers! The first half was a little slow for me, but the last half was GREAT! I do think they should've put a little more emphasis on Captain America and a little less on Hawkeye. Although the amount of action they showed Hawkeye having did seem to help establish him as an important member. Oh, and for those who left the theater once the credits rolled in, at the end of them was an additional little snippet.
I agree that they should have had Cap on more! He really is the greatest character. The Hulk was a bit ridiculous, but that aside, definitely a great summer-time movie!
ReplyDeleteI actually liked The Hulk (As did most of the theater). However, compared to the big-hitters, Cap just seemed really, well, weak. He needed a more pivotal role. Although I can see they were trying to lay out the foundations for him being the leader of the team, I think it would've been nice to see him do something that was truly as important as what Iron Man did. I mean, I understand why Iron Man needed to do it, to show a lack of selfishness. But Cap needed something to emphasize other forms of strength since, compared to The Hulk, Iron Man's armor, and Thor's strength, his strength was fairly minimal. So to have an equal footing, I think the film needed to somehow emphasize his other strengths, perhaps even making some kind of sacrifice himself that the others wouldn't do. I don't know...just "something."
