Goodreads - Need help from my readers!

I decided to explore Goodreads after having been a member for a long time but not really having much time to mess with it.  It’s a really good site and helps people who are looking for good books to find them.  As an independent author and publisher, I need all the help I can get!  If any of you read any of my Ebooks or print versions of my books and liked them, one of the best ways to let others know about them is to get on Goodreads on their *lists* and click on vote.

If you wouldn’t mind helping me out, in a second I’ll tell you how to do it.  Besides, Christmas was a little rough financially for me, and now I’m about to move which isn’t going to make things much better.  So, any help would be greatly appreciated!  And, again, my father and I would like to thank everyone for their continued support!  Also, be sure to look out for future books by myself *and* by two additional authors that I will be publishing.  The additional Ebooks will be coming from both my Dad as well as a young woman who is showing a lot of promise.  Anyway, here’s the info if you want to help our cause.  Thank you!

1. If you have a Goodreads account (Free), login in at http://www.goodreads.com
2. If you don’t, sign up.
3. Once you’re logged in click on the following link:
https://www.goodreads.com/list/user_votes/7230714
4. What you’ll see is a bunch of different *lists* that I included some of my books in.  Whether you choose to just do one list or all, here’s how to vote.
A. Click on the list theme that’s underneath my book/books (Example for one of the lists: *Way Better than I thought they would be*)
B. Look in the upper right hand corner of the page.  You should hopefully see some text that says “Vote on this List” or something similar.  Click on that.
C. Above all of those books you should see some text that says “Add Books to this List.”  Click on that.
D. Then you should have a way to type in/search for any book title you want to vote on for that list.
E.  Search for one of my books!  (Or one at a time if you plan to do more than one)
F. Click on Vote next to my book!
G.  Aaaand...repeat if you plan to do more than one list.

I know, it sounds complicated, but it’s really not once you figure it out.  Overall, it’s a really good way for all of us starving authors to get some much needed help getting our hard work noticed.  If things have a lot of votes, they’re more likely to be looked at.  Strength in numbers, you know?  :)

Ebooks now on Google Play

I've been getting my ebooks back on Google Play for those of you who have an android device. One needs its price to be altered a little bit, and then I have two more to put on there. But, well, compared to Amazon and the Nook, getting Ebooks on Google Play is a little more complicated, so it has taken a LOT of time and is a bit taxing.

Martian Manhunter is my name.

In case any of you are wondering, Jonathon Jones is not my real name but, rather, just a pen name.  For purposes of keeping both myself and my family safe, I felt a pen name was the best way to go. So, how did I come up with the name? Those of you who are comic book aficionados may appreciate this. Back in Detective Comics #225 from 1955 the green-skinned Martian Manhunter made his first appearance. However, in public he used a human form alias, a detective by the name of John Jones. I decided to alter the first name to a lengthier form and just decided to use an o for the spelling as opposed to an a. And voila, Jonathon Jones was born.

In addition to all of my Ebooks available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Apple, I am slowly but surely making my books available in print format as well via Createspace.  So far these are the ones that are also available in print format for those who like the feel of actual books.

Solan , my new eBook , is now for sale!

I would like to formally announce that my new eBook entitled "Solan" has just been uploaded to both Amazon as well as Barnes and Noble. As long as no problems pop up, it will probably be available sometime today, probably by late afternoon.

Here's a little snippet.

Excerpt: “As we lie in bed together, grasping the straws of sanity, we discuss the hidden truth. It's the year 3014, approximately one thousand years since the incident. Wars are non-existent, and everywhere you look is a beautiful sight to behold. No apparent signs of pollution exist, an obvious courtesy, wink and nod to all creatures. As far as the eye can see, magically colorful fruit orchards bloom their fragrant gifts for all to share.”

Quick summary: Combining a futuristic utopia of wonder and intrigue, this mysterious story, filled with elements of love, friends, wonderment, humor, control, and heartache, is sure to both amaze and delight a wide variety of readers.

Anyway, I decided to begin the book in a rather descriptive way in order to set up the environment, and then as the book progresses, especially near the end, have the action increase. Although it is written in a rather old-school writing style which a lot of people may not be accustomed to, I felt doing so gave it the detailed presence that it needed in order to set the stage.

Although of shorter length, at $3.99 it is still 1/2 the price of a movie and will take you longer to read it, perhaps 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours.

If people buy it and like it, I did set it up for sequels. So, I guess we'll see how it all pans out.

Thanks to all of you for your support.

Sincerely,
Jonathon Jones
