Conflict of Interests and Making the Right Choices
I just came across a personal ad of a woman who was a bartender who was studying to be a nurse. I would think that would be a conflict of interests. Sure, let's give them cirrhosis and then try to cure them. Yeah, that's it! Sigh.
Kind like when Walgreen's, which has a pharmacy, also sells cigarettes and alcohol. I mean, seriously. Where's their conscience?
Let's poison them and then give them things to help fix them a little bit, and then repeat the cycle all over again so we can get DOUBLE the profits. Grrrr. I'm SO not liking that.

Relationships and Marriage
Have you ever noticed how, with really old, obviously happily married couples that have hit their 80s-90s, the guy never seems to be the personality type that younger women would ever consider if that guy was 50-60 years younger and their own age?
I think they’re great examples of what women actually need for a relationship to survive that long. It’s not the overly macho/virile/non-stop/emotionally void or mysterious “supposedly exciting” beefcakes that end up with the woman till’ death do they part.
It’s the purse-holding “yes-dears” who are smiling and holding their hands with an intense emotional look of love in their eyes that never faded after umpteen years. Maybe you ladies should all stop to consider what that means when you go to choose when you’re younger.
Maybe us wussy but faithful, emotional lovey-dovey clingy types who DO love spending time with you as opposed to having a relationship with a beer can, the television set, gym equipment, or a random variety of females would be a much better way to go. It’s just something to think about.

Spider-Man
Spider-man's first appearance in 1962 means he is officially 50 years old. Wow. To think that when I was born he was just 9 and relatively new to the world
Mirror, Mirror
I just saw "Mirror, Mirror" on pay-per-view. That young woman who played Snow White was CUTE with a capital C. Wow. She kind of reminded me of Audrey Hepburn and, in the face, kind of like the young Jennifer Connelly when she played in the movie “Career Opportunities” back in 1991.
The sad state of America...
Wow...but well, true. I'm sure this will hurt a lot of
people to hear, but it's true.

Dreaming is good for you!
Your body heals the most when you dream. It's a proven fact that during REM sleep your body can regenerate itself more than any other time. So when you dream a lot, it's actually a really good thing since that's what often happens during REM sleep. Ever since getting this new mattress I've dreamt every night and I feel freaking fantastic!
Batman: The Dark Knight Rises
I saw the new Batman movie and I thought it was pretty good. A couple of interesting surprises at the end. Good luck deciphering what Bane is saying throughout most of the movie, though. Yikes!
Batman Movie Shooting in Colorado
Gun lovers are going to hate reading this, but I have to say it...
Although I am sure the shooter at the Batman movie in Colorado could've easily obtained the weapons off of the streets, doesn't it make sense to people that, before they're given weapons or any kind of ammunition legally, that they should be given and fully pass some kind of psychiatric evaluation counseling?
With the amount of shooting sprees, self-inflicted gunshot wounds, etc., I'd think that would make a whole lot of sense. In my opinion, if counseled before being able to purchase a weapon, and any red flags went up psychologically speaking, I think that would help to save a whole lot of people if people who had the potential for such atrocities were not allowed to have those sorts of things.

Batman
I wonder if the new Batman movie title can also be used as a new slogan for a Viagra-type pill that is solely targeted for black guys.
Hey, just a random thought.

Reality Check for Single Women
I have a message to all single women. I'm filthy rich, can crack a walnut with my biceps, am actually ridiculously good looking under my glasses, am hung like a water buffalo, I never get tired of waiting outside a dressing room and holding a woman's purse, am 6 foot and really broad-shouldered, love to dance, an hour to me is foreplay, and I am always buying people really expensive gifts and traveling around the world and always having numerous adventures.
Oh, wait. That's not me. You know who that is, ladies? A rich, gay, philanthropist porn star, that's who.
See, this is what women expect when they watch too many Disney cartoons as a child and too much porn as an adult. They get grand illusions in their heads that truly aren't realistic and in no way, shape or form represent the common, everyday straight guy.

Cats
You know one of the things that has always made me wonder? Why cats like fish so much. Think about it...how often in the wild would you see any member of the cat family, even the big cats like lions and tigers, getting IN water to catch a fish? Most cats HATE water. And I'm MORE than certain they'd never be able to catch an ocean fish since that would usually require going in WAY farther than the water's edge and you can't see diddly in most ocean waters.
I'd think, out of all the meats available, since cats "are" carnivores, chicken would pretty much be it as far as what we can easily give them. There's no way in the wild they're going to usually venture into water to catch a fish, anyone here who has seen a wild turkey know that there's no way a cat is going to bring down a wild turkey, especially a male, without getting pecked to death, and other land animals that we also eat such as lamb and cattle...well, of course there's no way a house cat is going to bring one of those puppies down.
Since we don't have "birds or mice" at the local supermarket, I'm thinking chicken is probably more along the lines of something they could actually catch and kill by themselves.

Single Women on Dating Sites
It seems like most single women nowadays have delusional ideas about what a man is actually supposed to be, or they're SO independent there's no WAY a guy is going to stick around for all that head-butting, or they constantly show signs of immaturity or an inability to settle down, or they obviously have such low self esteem that they're willing to settle for guys they're just way too good for simply because how they treat them will reinforce how they actually feel about themselves---like crap. I rarely see single women anymore who exist outside of these categories. What have we as a society done to instill such backward ideas into the minds of these young women?
Marvel Comic Books History and Spider-Man.
I have a true story for you. 8 years ago I managed to get into contact with a friend who knew a guy who had some older pinbacks. I bought the collection, which I later sold 3 years later and ended up using the money to take a massive trip all around Florida, which I had always wanted to do. (I made, literally, thousands off of the sale. It was quite the profit..they were apparently that rare).
Included with the pins he had sent an old business card that he personally signed. It showed that he worked for Marvel Comics back in 1982, but I really didn't bother thinking anything of it, and just stuffed the business card in my wallet, which I just now removed.
Why did I remove it? Because I researched who it actually was.
Andrew Yanchus was the colorist for a lot of panels in Marvel Comic books in the 70s-80s, but actually started a few part-time freelance coloring jobs in the early 60s. His first two works were, actually, Amazing Fantasy #15 and Amazing Spider-Man #1 according to the research I was able to locate. These were, actually, the first and second appearances of Spider-Man.
So, needless to say, this guy is pretty much iconic in the world of pop culture since he helped to create two of the most influential comic books in history, and I was carrying around a signed early business card of his that I was given for 8 years and didn't even know who he was. Funny.

Amazing Spider-Man Review
Amazing Spider-Man Review. One plot spoiler, so only read if you've seen it!
First, the acting:
The character of Gwen Stacey was well-played, lovable and, of course, downright adorable. Uncle Ben was also portrayed quite well, and I felt Martin Sheen had a powerful directness and conveyed a sense of father-like wisdom that he carried off without a hitch. Sally Fields, unfortunately, although a tremendous actress, just didn’t seem to hold a candle to the original portrayal by the much elderly “Aunt May” in prior Spider-Man movie installments.
Instead of having both knowledge and concern, it seemed as though she was just concerned and that was pretty much it. I didn’t get a feel overall for any kind of “wise old soul” like I did from the prior series. In addition, physically she just didn’t have the look that I envision Aunt May having, which I’m pretty used to via both the older movies and the comic book series I read as a child.
As for the character of Dr. Curt Connors, the actor did a fine job, although it wasn’t anything overly extreme to write home about. It was just “decent.” Now, for what you’ve all been waiting for. Spider-Man himself. In one way, the character seemed like what he probably should be, a geeky, awkward, quirky young high school boy who has been caught in the midst of both being a teenager and being blessed with super powers. His overall demeanor truly does speak that in volumes, and his overall awkwardness as a person truly does make him seem like an outcast teenager of today.
On the other hand, I feel as though it’s that awkwardness that made it difficult to connect with him. Tobey McGuire in previous movies had a personality and look that allowed the audience to connect with him and root for him as a kind of lovable underdog. Whereas with this new actor, I just didn’t get that. However, although you could tell Tobey went through some struggles in prior movies, he was missing that true modern teenage angst that this new actor, Andrew Garfield, had in spades.
Truth be told, I feel as though if they had an actor who combined elements of both actors, the role would be much better cast overall to correspond with the comic character’s actual presence.
The Plot:
I don’t want to get into it full throttle because I don’t really want to spoil anything, but I will say that it had both a storyline as well as a lot of action, so it wasn’t about waiting until ½ of the movie was over to see anything spectacular, nor was it non-stop action from the beginning that made us feel like there’s no story. Therefore, in that regard it definitely had elements of both things needed to make a successful comic book movie.
In addition, the end of the movie didn’t pan out with Captain Stacey in the same sequence or manner that it did in the Amazing Spider-Man comics, so it looks like the movie creators decided to take another path. In addition, the whole locale was different than it should have been because, technically, Peter didn’t meet Gwen until he entered college whereas, in this movie, they met in high school.
However, the lack of Mary Jane in this movie helped to at least convey a sense of chronology since he met Gwen Stacey before he met Mary Jane Watson in the comic books.
I think the primary thing that bugged me about the movie's plot is that Dr. Connors had an inner, whacked out voice that was way too reminiscent of the same thing that went down with both Norman and Harry Osbourne in the first three films. I just didn't see the need for them to do the same "inner crazy person" thing all over again.
Although I realize they were trying to stress a duality nature of the character, I just feel as though they didn't need to overly push an idea that seemed fairly obvious to those watching and listening to his words when he was The Lizard.
Overall, the story was really good. Not great, but really good. A little bit predictable, but good. I’d recommend seeing it but, hopefully, when they go to release the next one I think they need to work out a few bugs that they had in this film, if you’ll pardon the bad expression.
